Who We Are
EPIC Research was born from a simple but powerful belief: that medical innovation can emerge from community need rather than solely from established institutional frameworks. We are dedicated to transforming how Huntington's disease is treated, pioneering treatment development that addresses this condition using technologies derived solely from animal-free and human-relevant methods.
Our founder, Matthew Maran (LCSP, INRH, FRS, SNCH), brings together twenty years of hands-on clinical experience with established credentials and a deep commitment to ethical methodology. His journey through remedial biomechanics, fascial fitness instruction under renowned experts like Dr. Schleip and Tom Myers, and direct work with brain injury patients at Headway has shaped a unique perspective on treatment possibilities.
Currently completing his Clinical Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma, he's building the theoretical and practical foundation essential to his innovative therapeutic approach, with active membership in professional societies. Personal experience with neurodegenerative disease—losing his mother to PSP, a Parkinson's variant—drives the urgency behind our mission.

Our Treatment Philosophy
We believe that the most innovative treatments often come from the edges, not the establishment. While traditional approaches rely heavily on animal models, we're developing human-relevant methodologies that may deliver better results. Our approach combines rigorous clinical methodology with creative problem-solving, pushing boundaries through collaboration rather than competition.
Currently developing the Dreamweave™ Protocol for Huntington's disease, we're addressing a 34-year treatment gap with encouraging preliminary outcomes. This work exemplifies our core principle: that ethical treatment development can deliver meaningful breakthroughs.

Our Values in Action
Patient outcomes drive everything we do. We're committed to transparency, ethical methodology, and accessible treatment development that serves real community needs rather than institutional interests. Innovation emerges when we listen to those living with conditions like Huntington's disease and develop solutions that address their actual experiences.
We value collaboration over competition, believing that breakthrough treatments develop through shared knowledge and collective problem-solving. Our commitment to animal-free approaches reflects both ethical standards and scientific precision.
Looking Forward
As a Community Interest Company, we're building something different—an organisation that proves medical breakthroughs can emerge from ethical foundations. Our immediate focus on Huntington's disease represents the first step in demonstrating that animal-free treatment development can deliver superior results where traditional methods have failed.
We're not just developing treatments; we're creating a new approach to clinical innovation where advancement and ethics progress together, exploring how human-relevant methodologies can address the real complexities of Huntington's disease.
