In Europe, vivisection received €9 billion in 2023 while alternative methods got just €45 million—making us the 0.5%. Here in the UK, 2.68 million animal procedures were conducted in 2023, yet alternative methods received £10 million in funding in 2023, rising only to £20 million in 2024-2025.
Despite this massive funding disparity across Europe and the UK, animal-free treatment development is driving some of the most exciting breakthroughs in medical science. We're part of a paradigm shift toward human-centred treatment development, inspiring greater innovation and originality in neurodegenerative care.
The 0.5% is proving that ethical treatment development isn't just morally superior—it offers genuine advantages. We're developing treatments directly relevant to human physiology, human movement patterns and human neurological responses.
